Chashni Actor Jatin Singh Jamwal On Casting Couch: Jatin Singh Jamwal, who played the role of villain in the Star Plus show ‘Chashni’, has left the show some time back. Now the actors are giving auditions every day in search of work. In his recent interview, Jatin has made a shocking disclosure and said that after ‘Chashni’ he felt that he would get work, but instead of work he faced casting couch several times.
‘Chashni’ actor became a victim of casting couch
Jatin Singh told in a conversation with Hindustan Times that he has suffered the pain of casting couch. Jatin said, “After leaving Chashni, I was going for auditions every day and casting agents used to make strange requests to me. By the grace of God, I got two back to back shows. I was happy that hard work was appreciated here in the industry and good auditions were enough to get good work, but I stayed away from the screen for three years after my second show.
Actors were called for coffee instead of work
Jatin Singh told how directors used to call him over coffee for auditions. The actor said, “I stayed away from the screen for three years because people were more interested in meeting me for coffee than auditioning. After doing two shows, I expected that I would get work easily, but I was wrong. I was not just running after lead roles. Many times I tried for auditions, instead of my profile, photos and audition videos, I was told in front that let’s meet at coffee.
Jatin Singh shared the experience of casting couch
Jatin also shared the bad experience of casting couch in the interview. He said, “There is a well-known casting director who works for OTT shows. Once I called him and I gave him a reference of someone we both know. He messaged me on WhatsApp and asked for a selfie and I gave it. The one who wants work, beats hands and feet in every way. That casting agent messaged me what are you doing in the evening and fixed a meeting. We met at a coffee shop.”
Jatin cried a lot
Jatin further said, “We are sitting normally and that casting director put his hand on my lap. I could not understand how to react in a public place. I tried to explain to him that you are taking things in the wrong way and I am not comfortable with this. His answer was – this is what happens here and I ran away. I cried a lot at home and felt helpless for many days.
Jatin told another incident
Jatin also told that there was another incident when a casting director asked him for a photo in his underwear and the actor gave it to him. Then that director stopped answering them. Many times he was rejected in the audition and he started doubting his own talent. However, later he opened the YouTube channel and from there he gave a new flight to his talent.
